1. Determine the theme.
What is the main focus of your slideshow going to be? eg. For mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary, will you prepare a slideshow of their years together for all the guests to view at the anniversary party? Or will you use photos of them and their guests at the celebration to create a slideshow that lets Mom and Dad relive the party whenever they choose?
2. Determine how long the show will be.
This will be determined by number of photos and video clips there will be. Also, the audience of the show needs to be considered. A 20 minute slideshow to be shown at a birthday party full of children is too long.
3. Choose your photos, video clips and music.
This step is the most lengthy and difficult on your end. The length of the slideshow should be considered when selecting your photos. Please see our slideshow price list to see how many photos you need for a mini, normal or extended length slideshow. The quality of photos should also be considered. Basic exposure and colour correction as well as cropping will be done on each photo if necessary, but other retouching is not included. Avoid photos with harsh shadows as these generally do not lighten up without becoming pixellated. Also avoid blurry photos. This step must be repeated in some cases to come up with the "must have" photos and videos. Adding music to your slideshow will add emotional effect and provide a professional feel to your project. If you can't seem to find the right song, contact us and we'll provide some ideas.
4. Select captions for your slides.
Add funny quotes or descriptive captions to your slides. Keep captions to a minimum so as not to take away from the photos themselves. Please write any captions in pencil on the back of the photo.
5. Organize your photos and video.
Now you must decide in what order you would like your chosen photos and videos to be. Please mark the back of all photos with the slide number in pencil. Do not press hard as this will indent and ruin the photo. If using digital photos, please rename them with the slide number. eg. slide22.jpg
6. Send us your material and let us do our magic.
Please package all items securely. Place all photos in ziploc bags for shipping. Larger photos should be shipped in between pieces of cardboard. Digital photos and digital video clips should be shipped on a CD or USB flash drive (will be returned). The use of bubble envelopes or boxes with packaging materials is recommended. Marking "fragile" or "pictures, do not bend" on your items is suggested. Shipping insurance is also recommended. If your project will be made up of completely digital items, emailing them is also an option.
What types of media can you work with?
We are currently only set up to work with paper photos, digital photos and digital video clips.
Do I have to send you my photos to be scanned or can I do this myself?
You can scan the photos yourself if you like. If you do this, be sure the photos are free of dust as well as making sure your scanner glass is clean. Scan the photos at 300 dpi resolution. Make sure the picture is not cut off. Scanning your own photos would save some shipping costs as you would not have to send us the paper copies of your photos. You could just email them. If you wanted to send us your photos through the mail, we do not charge extra for scanning.
Do I get to approve my slideshow before the final production?
Once we finish your show, we will post it on our website for you to review and approve prior to final production.
Do I have to send you music for my slideshow?
Most music is copyrighted and therefore its use is prohibited in commercial use. If you obtain the music files legally (purchase of the CD or downloaded from ITunes for example) you can send us these. If you send us music, you acknowledge the copyright laws and Daddyo Productions accepts no responsibility for copyright infringements. We can obtain copies of your music at a cost of $1.00 per song.
Can I get a slideshow done for a funeral service?
We can do expedited services as long as we can receive the photos/video in a timely fashion. This would require overnight shipping on both ends.
Who is responsible if my photos/video is damaged during shipping?
Unfortunately, we can not be responsible for damages incurred by the shipping process. This is why we recommend shipping insurance on all packages. Once we receive your item, we will send a confirmation email stating we have received the items and if anything looks damaged, we will let you know right away. Once the items are in our possession, we will treat them as if they were our own.

- Additional DVDs can be purchased for $9.99. Discounts will be given for more than 10 DVDs.
- Standard shipping charges of $10 for 1 DVD apply. For larger orders, we will charge exact shipping charges.
- Full payment is required before work is started. Projects will take between 1 - 3 weeks to complete. If rush delivery is required, an additional fee may be charged.
